Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year

£1,000 Cash
SSE programme
A fully funded place (worth £8,000) on one of SSE's courses will go to this year's winner, subject to the winner's suitability for the learning programme.

Loan Consultation and possible Loan offer from the Local Investment Fund
The Local Investment Fund is a national organisation that makes loans of between £25,000 and £250,000 to not for profit organisations across the UK. LIF has agreed to a loan consultation with the winner of the Young Social Entrepreneur category, with the view to offering a substantial loan to help their business become stronger and more self-sufficient in the long term.

Loan Consultation and possible Loan offer from Social Investment Scotland
Social Investment Scotland (SIS) will provide a loan consultation and possible loan if the winner in this category is from Scotland. SIS is a unique partnership between Scotland's four biggest banks and the voluntary and public sectors. SIS provides loan finance and business support to social economy organisations who are unable to raise any or all of the loan finance they need from normal commercial sources.

Social Entrepreneur of the Year

Business Support Coaching and Training Package with The Innovatory
A business support and training package consisting of four days support starting with a business diagnostic and one to one training leads analysis, leading to a programme of support comprising: mentoring, coaching, professional legal and/or financial advice, and/or bespoke ICT or management training.

Two days consultancy and a year’s membership to SEL
Two days free consultancy (worth £1,000) plus a free membership to SEL will go to this year's winner. SEL Members receive regular email updates bringing you crucial up-to-the-minute information, invitations to quarterly networking events and the opportunity to sell your goods and services on the SEL e-commerce website. The consultancy will be delivered within a mutually agreed timetable in 2007.

Social Enterprise of the Year

A Group IT course at Happy Computers
The Social Enterprise of the Year will receive a two day IT course, for up to 6 people, at Happy Computers. Happy won Silver in this year's IT Training Company of the Year awards as well as being rated by Business in the Community as having the most positive impact on society of any small business in the UK. Choose to learn more about Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, Sage or any desktop software. Includes two years telephone help-line for the students.

SEE Stamp Accreditation
The SEE Stamp is accredited to companies prepared to undergo the most comprehensive public examination of SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL and ETHICAL (SEE) business practices in existence. It has been designed to differentiate companies with credible SEE policies and practices from the growing number of businesses jumping on the ethical bandwagon. In support of the Edge Upstart Awards, SEE Companies will waive the accreditation fee for the company named Social Enterprise of the Year 2007.

Dinner for two at Hoxton Apprentice
Inside a former Victorian primary school set in a Grade II listed building, is a restaurant wearing two hats. Serving excellent food in a relaxed ambience and Michelin-recommended, it is also a social enterprise charity training long-term unemployed or homeless people. All profits from the restaurant are ploughed right back into the charity. While dining in the elegant surroundings, the winners of this prize can be satisfied that the Hoxton Apprentice is giving another chance of financial independence to people who may have lost their way and are now back on track.
