  • Martin should win an award because he as helped many people achieve change in their lives with information, advice and guidance. He uses his knowledge and skills freely to help others. He as met with over 700 people on a one to one basis in the last three years. They can be of any age and they can self refer. People even just drop in or use the help line and web site in the city centre. He never lets his difficulties get in the way of his need for success. He has worked to deliver a holistic model of provision with active services, which together make up the range of solutions for dyslexic people. He as built the organisation from a good idea to a fully registered charity with a wholly owned subsidiary company,INDIGO active

    The organisation is now self sustaining and well respected by the community and the users. Martin shares his knowledge freely and as successfully tutored 50 professional learners on the accredited Level 3 course - Supporting the Dyslexic learner in the last two years.

    * I was awarded a medal in the Year of the volunteer.

    * We are an Open College Network acrediated centre and provide a Level dyslexia awareness course and Level 3 supporting the dyslexic learner

    * This project is unique, offering dyslexic people a new model of provision, one based on active service of provision for people of all ages.

    * We have active mangement and professional arranagement in place. We have many disinples e.g teachers, psychologists, mentors, counsellors, life coach, information advice and guidance workers, IT and course tutors.

    * All policies are in place and we work with a code of ethics.

    * We have a quality assuance framework which includes outside acrediation.

    * We are helping the community be more inclusive of dyslexic people

    * We would benefit from getting this award as it would please the volunteers who work tirelessly giving them recognition.

    * We could use the award in our our marketing documents
