  • You seldom meet adults in this life who have as much enthusiasm as a child and when you do it is disarming. Dave is always cheerful and supportive and optimistic. This project has cost him dearly though emotuionally and financially and yet he has soldiered on and seems like he is winning a secure future for the Forum at last. He had to buy and renovate a dilapidated building and equip it with brand new technology. He had to employ people and market his facility and fight his way through burocracy. For years the hurdles seemed endless but he never gave up.

  • I forgot to mention in my nomination that the Forum aims itself as a resuorce for young people of all backgrounds. They are made welcome and encouraged. Local authorities use the facilities for disadvantaged youngsters and colleges are also now using the facilities to improve what they can offer to their students` education. The Forum has recording parties for young children and New Blood gigs for teenagers too young to frequent pubs so that they have somewhere to go and to encourage local emerging musical talent.
