What is social enterprise?
Social enterprises employ business strategies to achieve sustainable social change. They contribute to the national economy and substantially benefit the local community by creating employment opportunities, providing ethical products and services, and reinvesting surpluses into society.
Who are social entrepreneurs?
Social entrepreneurs are the visionaries who develop and establish social businesses. They devise creative solutions to social problems and realise their ideas through ethical enterprises. They are passionate and driven to achieve social change through new ways of doing business.
What is practical learning?

Learning is the key to success. But what if the academic approach is not for you? For many, it's simply not as effective as learning-by-doing, really getting your hands dirty and understanding how things work.
Practical learning is:
- learning by doing - not just thinking, talking, reading and writing about doing
- real – the consequences matter
- learning from experts
- making clear links between practice, theory and judgement
